Frosty Falls Ice Cream!
On September 2,2021 the remnants of Hurricane Ida caused historical flooding to Bridgeport, PA displacing 100’s of residents and shuttering the doors of dozens of small businesses along the river front. We love to be one of the closest dwellings to the Schuylkill River, but the result was total destruction. We are still early in the process of all the necessary repairs needed to be able to operate safely. Even if that takes us extra time, I will take every step necessary to achieve a shop that holds up to my already high cleanliness standard. There is nothing more important to me than the health and safety of my family, my employees and our customers. That being said, we have a long road ahead of us.
As some of you already know, my family and I reside just a block away from our shop, and in addition to the devastation at Frosty’s, we lost the first floor and basement of our home. We’re currently not able to live in our house because of the massive damage and are staying 20 minutes out of town with family. On top of all of that, my brother lost his home to the tornado that devastated Ft.Washington, PA during Hurricane Ida’s intense punch it laid on Montgomery County and beyond.
Dealing with all these extreme losses has been one of the hardest things I have ever had to endure in my life. I think about how things were just 4 weeks ago and it brings me to stomach turning cries of sheer sadness. I have trouble processing where I need to keep my focus on because I want to be everywhere and fix everything at once. I realize that father time is my greatest enemy right now.
I do know one thing for certain, I need my shop back. In the 6 amazing months we have been open, you have shown an amount of love that all new business owners only dream of. The opportunity to own Frosty Falls wasn’t because I was looking to buy or could even imagine buying my own business, my intense desire of growth for the shop was so apparent that it was undeniable that it needed all my love. These days, I have dreams of slipping my crocs on, tying up my apron and scooping up some delicious creation for social media that looks too good to not immediate get in your car and drive over to get one. I tried to make an ice cream shop that you all dreamed about also.
I do want to say at this time that we currently do not know when we will be operational again. We did not have flood insurance on any of our equipment and are eager to regain electricity so we can check the status of what we have. But realistically, we may not be able to open until next season. That is worst case scenario. Best case- We get up and rolling in time to make Thanksgiving and Christmas cookie trays. I can say with confidence that our brand-new oven, mi amore, suffered no damage and will be utilized as soon as we get back in there.
Please follow us on social media for the most up to date information. We hope to set up a beef and beer to support our rebirth as well as a Go Fund Me which you can find the link to below. More than anything, we just need your continued positive thoughts and love. I can’t wait to see you all again.
